Musical & Creative Director
Tanya Lawrence
Tanya Lawrence was privately trained in both singing and piano from a very early age, gaining many awards and trophies during her formative years.
She went on to pursue a career as a professional singer, supporting the likes of Les Dennis and Paul Shane. During this time amateur accolades were superseded by professional awards.
After some 16 years, Tanya decided to settle in Blackpool where she ran her private vocal coaching studio on Whitegate Drive. Here, she helped performers from most of Blackpool's rich tapestry of live entertainments venues to look after their voices and perfect their singing technique and stage presentation. During this time she launched and directed The Blackpool Rock Choir with members ranging from 18 to 70 years old, singing in both English and Spanish.
Following the economic recession in the early 1990s, Tanya pivoted her considerable transferable skills into the education sector, teaching and lecturing in both state and private schools, eventually becoming the lead music educator for a network of some 63 private schools situated throughout the UK.
When the 2008 recession once again altered the landscape, Tanya decided to return to private coaching, this time based in Bispham, where she continues to teach. Over the past ten years or so Tanya has produced and directed many amateur concerts and groups including the popular Happy Woman Rock Choir who performed to a capacity audience at The Waterloo Music Bar in November 2019.
