One of the most rewarding parts of our choir journey is taking part in guest performances at local events and venues. Over the years, we’ve discovered that these occasions are by far the best way to raise awareness of our choir’s existence and to spark interest from potential new members.

Modern life makes it easy to lose touch with the natural rhythm of the seasons. With everything available 24/7 — online shopping, on-demand streaming, open-all-hours supermarkets — the year can sometimes feel like one long, unchanging stretch. Choir life, however, restores something precious: a rhythm, a cycle, a sense of moving with the seasons – something so very human.

Eighteen months after launching our very first Women Rockin’ Harmony Choir® in Blackpool, we took a bold step forward: opening a second team in St Anne’s. Just far enough away to attract new members from a new area, yet close enough to make joint rehearsals from time to time, feasible.

Thursday 26th June 2025, with two growing teams, Women Rockin' Harmony Choirs were back in the beloved Layton Institute - a local building that holds a special place in so many hearts - ready to present our summer show, “Rockin’ Harmony 25: Rhythm Is Gonna Get You.”

If you’ve visited our choir’s website, or picked up one of our flyers, you’ll have seen our slogan: “Sing. Move. Communicate.” While “Sing” and “Move” might be self-explanatory, “Communicate” often prompts a few questions. What exactly does that mean in the context of our choir? Let's time travel back to where this all began.

One of the great wonders of a choir is that it attracts people from all walks of life. Few social spaces exist where doctors, teachers, cleaners, and road sweepers can proudly stand shoulder to shoulder, united by a purely aesthetic goal.
